FEBRUARY SHOWS ANNOUNCED!

With our winter recording hiatus behind us, the Sons will be bringing it straight to the 98108 in February with two live Georgetown shows. This south Seattle neighborhood is blowing up with new venues, but it hasn’t lost its funky old-school bricks and mortar rock and soul flavor. Come on down, watch us debut songs from our second album (yeah you read that right) and catch incendiary performances from the likes of Big Wheel Stunt Show, Space Cretins, Howlbox, Street Light Suzie (Austin, TX!!), and of course the un-fuck-withable Neon Nights. We’re a live band again, and damn it feels fine. Gory details available on our shows page.

ALBUM NEWS: Klepac got laid off. This means all our mastering money suddenly became rent money. Hopefully things on the day job front will be looking up soon, but currently we’re a few bucks shy of delivering you the best debut album you’ll hear all year. Your patience will reap its reward soon! How soon? . . . quite soon.

Strange Interlude

Our record is in that curious place between “we played a lot of kick ass songs” and “we have a cd for you”. Wheels are turning, stuff is happening. Enjoy these Egg Studios recording pics and Happy New Year!

STEREO SONS DEMO CLUB - DECEMBER

(Just about) every month, we give away music to the people on our mailing list.

To tide you over until the release of our full-length record (recording this weekend!) we bring you a pre-production demo engineered by our esteemed colleague Stewart McClain.

The song is called One Block and it’s about condo developers and their approach to preserving local history.
For those just joining us: if you click on the download widget below you will be re-directed to ReverbNation, where you will be able to grab the track, if you are on our mailing list. If you are not on the list, just enter a valid email address and you should get added immediately. If you have trouble, email band@stereosons.com.

THANKS, AND SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!

We’d like to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who attended one of our shows and/or performed with us in October and November. We had a fantastic time, saw some of our favorite people, and met a bunch of cool new friends.

From now through the end of the year we’ll be hard at work preparing and recording our FIRST FULL-LENGTH RECORD! Details are still top-secret now, but we’ll be dropping science on you here and elsewhere as this project comes together.

We should be stepping back out on stage in January, unless something unexpected comes along that we just can’t turn down. Remember you can still find us on Facebook, which is where everyone seems to be hanging out these days. More to come.

LOCAL FALL SHOWS ANNOUNCED

We’re excited about the two local gigs we’re doing in the next two months, with some excellent bands we’ve been wanting to play with for some time.

FIRST
On Friday, October 23rd, the gents of Spanish For 100 will be releasing Metric, their third album. Metric was produced by Phil Ek at AVAST!, and is awesome. Also appearing will be the mighty SHIM, who are also insanely awesome.

THEN
On Thursday, November 12th, we are psyched to join Eighteen Individual Eyes at the Comet. EIE are basically a supergroup formed from the ashes of H Is For Hellgate and Hungry Pines, and if there was any more cool packed into this band it would probably explode. Also appearing at this show are the totally rad (and totally recording a new album at London Bridge) Post Adolescence and oh yeah a band from Mother Freaking New Zealand called Batrider who you should check out because they are good.

The best thing about being in a band is sharing a stage with other bands you really like and admire. This fall we’re in heaven.

CHRIS KLEPAC SOLO ALBUM ON ITUNES
